Dear Sir/Madam,
I’m Li Hua, a Chinese student taking the English courses at our school.I’m interested in Music Club at Weekend and I’d like to join it. I’m good at playing the piano. I have been playing the piano for more than 10 years and I once won the third place in a nation-wide piano playing competition. Also I can sing Chinese folk songs very well. As for my personalities, I think I’m open-minded, friendly and easy-going, and above all, I really enjoy making friends with people from all around the world. I will be very happy if I can be admitted into the club! Looking forward to your reply!
Best wishes!
Yours,
Li Hua

W: Jamie, if you’re going to survive on your own, you at least need to be able to boil an egg. Watch. First make sure you have enough water in the saucepan.

M: How was the party last night, Rebecca? I’m so disappointed I couldn’t make it.

M: What happened at the party?

M: How come you don’t practise magic tricks more?
W: It’s not a skill that you can put to use very often. But I think I should practise from time to time to avoid a scene like that again. I look so stupid!

W: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Attention please. I am glad to inform you of tomorrow’s activities for freshmen. Firstly, let me read you a booklet. It tells you a bit more about the school, the courses and the social activities we offer. Now, on the first page, there’s an outline of next morning’s activities. At 10 o’clock, all the new students will gather in the Main Hall to meet the principal and the rest of the staff. The principal’s talk will last about fifteen minutes and then the director of studies will talk to you for half an hour about the courses and the different requirements for each. After that, the student adviser will tell you about the various services and activities we offer to students. After that we’ll go to the language lab at 11 o’clock. There you’ll have a test to help us find your level of English so that we can put you in the right class. We still have a couple of things to do in the afternoon. At 2 p.m. you’ll watch a video about the school life in classroom 521,Main Building. At 4,a lecture about course registration will be given.
