Opportunity for Research Fellow position of NTU Singapore
Energy Research Institute @ NTU invite applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for Research Fellow positions focused on intermittency management of renewable generation through distributed energy storage systems (DESS). Candidates should have experience with power system and power electronics modelling, simulation, and control. Specifically we are looking for expertise in the design of simulation models and advanced control algorithms for DESS to realize multiple applications such as intermittency management, frequency regulation, and operating reserve. A hybrid coordination control will be developed to optimize the performance of DESS in terms of cost and reliability. Candidates should be passionate about working on cutting edge research leading to high impact products and services.
Other research activities may include participating in research discussion with local industries and partners, overseas universities and research centres and writing reports as required by Energy Market Authority (EMA) and National Research Foundation (NRF) of Singapore. Candidates with strong background in power system and power electronics modelling, analysis and control are preferred.
Requirements
•PhD degree in Electrical Engineering.
•Expert knowledge in power system and power electronics.
•Experience with energy storage systems, renewable energy resources, micro grids, power electronic converters, RTDS/OPAL-RT is highly recommended.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
•Strong analytical and conceptual abilities.
•Able to work independently and in a team to realize proposed research work.
•Able to publish conference/journal papers and commit at least 1 year of your time in the project.
