Accepting applications for Research Associate Professor/Research Assistant Professor positions in James E. Rothman lab in the Shanghai Institute for Advanced Immunochemical Studies (SIAIS) at Shanghaitech University.
We are recruiting a talented scientist with expertise in super-resolution microscopy, including (but not limited to) Stochastic Optical Reconstruction Microscopy (STORM) or Stimulated Emission Depletion Microscopy (STED). We are interested in studying fundamental principles and machineries of membrane trafficking in mammalian cells. In particular, the candidate will be participating in a multi-institutional project between Yale University and Shanghaitech that aims to study how small G-proteins called Rab-GTPases orchestrate the assembly and disassembly of membrane nano-domains for cargo sorting and transport through the secretory pathway. The candidate should have advanced knowledge in physical and biophysical properties of fluorescent dyes and dye-conjugation system (i.e. SNAP or Halo tags) for super-resolution imaging. Salary level and rank will be determined, based on qualification and research experiences.
Qualifications :
1. Ph.D. degree in one of the following majors; Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Chemistry, Physics or Biophysics.
2. Minimum of three years of postdoctoral training in prestigious US or European universities/research institutes.
3. Strong publication records in advanced live imaging or technology development
4. Good communication and writing skill in English.
