Science now makes it clear that reducing and reversing the growth of greenhouse gasses, particularly carbon dioxide, is vital for the survival of China and the world as a whole. Money spent now by the central government to accellerate the development of zero emission fuel and electric
power will put China quickly in the lead for this technology that will be in huge demand around the planet in the coming years. With most of her industrial capacity, farmland and population in the eastern lowlands, China has probably the most to lose of any country if polar ice sheets in Greenland and Antarctica collapse quickly. The more scientists learn about these thick bodies of ice, the more concerned they become that they could slide into the oceans very quickly, perhaps in just a few years. By taking the lead in developing renewable energy sources, China will be in a position to provide this technology to the world and her
continued economic health will be assured. But China will need to supplement private funds to move the necessary scientific research forward as fast as possible. An obvious source of funds is the Chinese moon landing project. Landing on
the moon will prove Chinese technical prowess, but it is, in the final analysis
a giant public relations stunt that has little real value to the Chinese nation
. The development of planet saving renewable energy technology will have similar public relations value, but also hugely improve China's economic position in the world, giving her true "Superpower Status".
Continue to aggressively develop and implement information technology around China - The efficient use of information technology and continuing research into modeling and predicting the impacts of economic policy decisions will create huge
dividends by ensuring that China's economic development will be as efficient as
possible and improve China's standing in the world. In fact, China is already a
leader in this area, but continued generous support for this area of research is vital, and perhaps the most efficient area to invest government research funds
. I believe that if China implements the world's first completely electronic monetary system, she will have the most efficient economy and put an end to the terrible plague of corruption that is one of the greatest threats to China in the
