A Possible Version
Everybody,
Attention please. Here is wonderful news to you. A student summer camp to the United States will be organized this summer vacation, which is the first one in our school. I’d like to say something about it.
The destination of the summer camp is the California West Lake High School, a well-known key school in the state. Last year our headmaster was invited to pay a visit to it. We’ll start out on the first August, and stay until the twentieth, totaling to 20 days.
What interests us most is our activity program. Most of the time will be spent in the school, listening to a large variety of lectures, having discussions with the local students, visiting the school and so on. For my part, some of the activities are a challenge for us, because English is the only language. Luckily, homestay makes it possible for us to improve our English.
The application forms are ready, and welcome you to sign up this Friday afternoon.
That’s all. Thank you.

听力部分录音原文
(Text 1)
W: You know, my ideal holiday is relaxing on the beach, swimming, enjoying the sunshine?
M: Well, mine is just staying at home.
(Text 2)
M: We can either take the children with us to the movies or we can take them to my mother’s home.
W: I’d like the first choice.
(Text 3)
M: Excuse me. I’m looking for the bar, please.
W: Yes, sir. It’s inside the restaurant next to the performance stage. Turn left out of the lift, and the bar is just there, on your right.
(Text 4)
W: Come and look at my bedroom. I’ve painted it.
M: What colour this time, Kathy? Green?
W: I decided to paint it blue.
M: Oh well, that’s nicer than before. I hated those pink walls.
(Text 5)
M: Have you finished the assignment given by Professor Smith? I don’t think you have much difficulty doing that experiment.
W: No, but I didn’t expect it would take me most of the day.
M: I spent two days in the lab and finally finished it.
(Text 6)
W: Can I have your ticket and passport, please?
M: Yes, of course. Here you are.
W: Did you pack your bags yourself?
M: Yes, I packed them last night.
W: How many bags are you checking in?
M: Just one. And I’m taking this hand luggage.
W: Are there any sharp items in your hand luggage?
M: No, there aren’t. Oh, by the way, I want a window seat if possible, please.
W: Ok. Here you go. This is your boarding card. The flight leaves at 1:20. Go to Gate 17 around 12:30. Have a nice flight.
M: Thank you.
(Text 7)
W: David, would you mind showing my how to use this? I need to call my family
M: No problem. First, pick up the receiver and then put coins in the hole at the top. You need 50 cents in total to make a local call.
W: Ok. Then what?
M: Next, listen to make sure you have a dial tone. If you do, dial the number—or I guess I should say, push the numbered buttons. Most phones nowadays are push-buttons—especially pay phones. For a local call, don’t dial the area code. Got it?
W: That sounds easy enough. Thanks.
M: You’re welcome. But hurry up, the class will begin soon.
(Text 8)
W: Hey, Bob. So how was the movie last night?
M: Well, I didn’t really enjoy it very much.
W: Why? That movie got great reviews. It’s really popular.
M: Oh, the movie was fine. I just got angry with the people sitting in front of me.
W: What happened?
M: Well, first they came in late. It took them a while to get into their seats. And then they started talking, really loud. One of the girls had seen the movie before. She was telling the other girl the entire story.
W: Unbelievable.
M: Well. A guy then asked them to be quiet. Politely, of course. And they started arguing.
W: Well, what finally happened? You left halfway?
M: No. The manager had to be called in. Everyone quieted down eventually, and I continued with my movie. But it was too late. They had ruined the movie for me.
(Text 9)
M: Hi, Jane. I’m going to go to London on the train. Come with me!
W: But it’s cheaper by bus.
M: I’ve got a special travel card for students. You can get cheap train tickets with it. A card for six months is twelve pounds.
W: So how should I get one?
M: You need two photographs—one for the card and one for the form.
W: Oh. There’s a photo machine in the post office. It gives you eight photos for six pounds.
M: So does the one in the library. But I went to a photographer’s shop. It was cheaper.
W: I don’t have to show my passport or my driving license, do I?
M: That’s right. You only need a letter from your college.
W: I can ask my teacher for one.
M: And then you take everything to the tourist office.
W: Great. I’ll go to the teacher’s office at once. Next time, you go to London, I’ll come to.
(Text 10)
W: The purpose of our meeting today is to work out what we need and how much we need.
M: In order to be competitive in the coming festival, we should hire a director this time. We don’t need him to come every time, a total of five times will do. What do you think?
W: I can’t agree more. But the question is how much it would cost. Do you think our company can share money for this?
M: 200 dollars will do for each time, I think.
W: All right.
M: Should we get some costumes for ourselves? We could use them repeatedly and even the future members of our club can make use of them.
W: This is a good suggestion. Frankly speaking, our costumes right now are so worn out that they fail to create the right stage effect.
M: What about replacing the old tape recorder with some kind of updated equipment, like CD player?
W: Good idea.
