[1] Some people never master the art of being patient, and, at times, all of us struggle with being patient. Sometimes a certain situation or a certain person just pushes our buttons, making it much more difficult for us to remain patient. Once you lose patience, things tend to go wrong. It becomes harder to concentrate, and it becomes harder to be polite to other people.
[2] ______________ takes time and it takes patience to learn to be patient. Patience is acquired as you acquire wisdom, and wisdom is the child of experience. No one is born wise, just as no one is born patient. As you learn and grow and experience things in life, you become wiser and learn how to interact with difficult kinds of people.
[3] For example, you start your first job in a big office, and you don’t really know how to work with lots of people. This is normal, as you have never had the experience of working in an office before. At first, it might be difficult to understand your job. You might even lose patience, but over time you’ll be able to interact with other people with more confidence and patience. When someone at work disagrees with you, it will make you flustered. However, with experience, you’ll learn how to present your opinion clearly. You’ll be less likely to become bothered when presented with different situations. The more patience you have, the better you’ll cope in various situations.
[4] Though it might be difficult, you should try to be patient in life. This will help you in nearly all situations. You must keep in mind that patience comes with experience and wisdom. Age doesn’t always mean that someone is wise, and wisdom doesn’t always mean that someone is patient, though the two often go hand in hand.

书面表达:
Recently there is an upsurge that more and more people focus on Zhang Lili, Wu Xiuying, Wu Bin, Zhou Chong and others alike, all of whom are thought highly of for what they did.
In my opinion, they’re heroes from ordinary people. There is no doubt that their deeds are bound to move the whole China and leave us deeper meditation. As is shown in their behavior, morality lies nowhere but just around us all the time. So we should no longer cast doubt on the existence of conscience and virtue. Besides, where there is love, there is hope. Only when everybody devotes even a bit of love, can our society be warmer and more harmonious.
I do believe that happiness lies in offering help to others and we’ll live in a world full of love.

W: I'm going to the grocery store. I've got to get some milk.
M: Could you stop by the hardware store and get a new key made for the front door?
(Text 2)
M: I'd like to have the fountain as my background. Where should I stand?
W: Could you stand back a bit? Now a little to the right. Ready. Say cheese.
(Text3)
W: You're running too fast. Running so fast is not good for people over forty.
M: You're right. Mild exercise is more suitable for us.
W: In fact, you must take it slowly for a longer time to burn up fat.
(Text 4)
M: Did you just see a ghost or something? You look frightened.
W: I just saw the horror movie The Final Destination. It really scared me.
M: Oh, I know it. Which part scared you most?
W: My hair was standing on end the whole time.
(Text 5)
W: I'm very grateful for what you have done for my daughter.
M: That's all right. That's my job.
W: I know she has brought a lot of trouble to you. Thanks.
M: No trouble at all. By the way, keep her in bed for two weeks.
(Text 6)
W: Now, have we got everything we need?
M: Well, let's see. There are some onions and potatoes, but there aren't any mushrooms.
W: Are there any carrots?
M: A few. But we don't need many, so that's OK.
W: How much milk is there?
M: Only a little. And there isn't any butter, and we haven't got much cheese.
W: Well, we don't need much cheese. Is there anything else?
M: No, not for Shepherd's Pie. We've got some salt and pepper, and there's a lot of flour. Would you like to help with the shopping?
W: Yeah.
(Text 7)
M: Have you got the list of who's coming to the party?
W: Yes, I do. And I've told them to keep the date a secret. John hates that kind of thing. Do you remember when he found out that we'd bought him a birthday cake last year, and that surprising Christmas party? He was angry. But this is different. Getting married is special and we've known him and Anna for years.
M: Everyone's looking forward to it. I'll pick you up from the office and we'll drive there together, shall we?
W: That 'll be fine. Thanks.
(Text 8)
W: Good morning, Lewis Brothers.
M: Hello, it’s Oliver Martin here. Can I speak to Mark Hanson?
W: I’m afraid he isn't in the office now. Can I take a message?
M: Yes, I’m phoning from Worldwide Holidays. I've made an order recently. Mark was dealing with it. There were several things, mainly brochures and pricelists. We've received those and they are fine. But we haven't got the invitation cards that were ordered.
W: When did you order them?
M: It was about half a month ago, I think. But it's rather urgent now. They're for a business reception at the end of the month.
W: We're quite busy at the moment, but I'm sure he'll get them to you tomorrow. Is that OK?
M: That's great! It was originally 30, but can you make that 40?
W: Yes. Fine.
(Text 9)
M: Change the first part and make those corrections and your paper will be great.
W: OK. Thanks for all your help, Professor Morgan. I'll e-mail my paper to you later today.
M: You know, in high school I used to write my term papers on a typewriter. I was pretty fast, but I made some mistakes. Actually, the typewriters weren't that bad. Now, as for the first computers... oh my gosh!
W: What do you mean?
M: In those days, we used to use the ones at the university in the computer lab. I’ll never forget, one spring, during final exams, everybody was working on their term papers, and the electricity went out.
W: So? No big deal... laptops have batteries ...
M: Yes, but remember, in those days we didn't have laptops. If your computer crashed, you lost everything. Everybody lost their papers that afternoon ... including me.
W: What did you do?
M: I went back to the good, old-fashioned way.
W: You mean typewriters?
M: No, the first word processor.
(Text 10)
M: Good morning everybody, today I would like to focus mainly on how to improve your English for practical purposes. In English, as in most languages, there are four main aspects of speaking, listening, reading and writing. I believe two activities can help all four of these. Firstly, reading the newspaper has always been noted to be able to help improve one's English. However, I personally feel that reading books is more useful. While newspaper reading can improve your English, I feel that it may be too boring to secondary school students. There are books written for advanced users, so I am of the opinion that books are better for students to improve their English. The second activity is watching the news. I know I just said the news is boring, but I think watching the news can be interesting to students. Another advantage of watching the news is that you can learn how to use body language while speaking. I've also noticed that there are some English newspapers in Tokyo. This is the most beneficial to learners of English. I hope my speech has been helpful to all of you. Thank you for taking the time to listen.
