The School of Physical Science and Technology (SPST) in ShanghaiTech University invites applications for following positions: one research associate professor. The lab research mostly focuses on reaction kinetics and mechanism of catalytic surface by applying surface spectroscopy method FT-IR, XPS, XRD and MS to operando/in situ characterization.

Research associate
Qualification：
1) The completion of Ph. D. in physics, chemistry, Chemical Engineering or materials discipline is required. The candidates must have strong background in a surface chemistry lab and related instrumentation, esp. FT-IR, UHV and online high pressure gas handling experience. 2 years+ postdoctoral experience is required. Qualified applicant also must have publication in SCI journals;
2) Must have excellent writing, communication and interpersonal skills as well as appropriate mechanical and computer skills
3) The qualified candidate should be able to work independently and as a member of teams;
4) Experience supervising technical personnel including graduate students and visitors is a plus;
5) Experience and expertise in a variety of synthetic techniques is a plus;
6) Interdisciplinary experience such as inorganic synthesis, spectroscopic characterizations (in situ XPS,XRD), computation and device processing are strongly preferred but not all above required.
Responsibilities：
1) Helping PI construct and maintain the SSITKA labs, performing experiments for projects.
2) Being in charge of routine operations in the lab including lab safety, instruments management and helping recruiting graduate students。
3) Candidates must be proficient in evaluating the results of synthetic and materials fabrication studies, troubleshooting and devising new experiments, and assisting with the organization of data and the preparation of papers, reports and proposals. They are expected to pursue opportunities (e.g. resources, awards, fellowships, proposals, presentations) and to consider practical uses of the materials that are prepared.

助理研究员
任职条件：
1.拥有物理、化学、化工或材料学专业的博士学位，有深厚的表面化学和相关的仪器背景，特别是FT-IR、UHV和在线（近）常压-高压气体反应操作实验。拥有2年以上博士后工作经历。在SCI期刊上发表过相关文章。
2.良好的写作和人际沟通技巧，熟悉机械定制加工和设备自动控制相关知识，能独立撰写报告、文档、基金申请书等。
3.具备独立工作的能力和团队协作的能力
4.有研究生或访问学生管理和指导经验的优先考虑
5.具备化学合成技术、或具有光谱表征(原位XRD, XPS)、计算机自动化设备处理等交叉学科背景的优先考虑（不是全部必须）
岗位职责：
1.协助PI搭建和维护实验室设备平台,完成项目所需的实验工作。
2.负责实验室日常运行维护工作，包括实验室安全管理、仪器维护、研究生录取等
3.申请人必须能对合成和材料制备结果进行评估、解决设备常见问题以及根据需要设计新实验装置，协助撰写文章报告等。参与实验室科研经费申报及管理，对制备材料考量实际应用途径。
