Since 2014，the goal of building a"nation of readers"has been included in the annual Report on the Work of the Government．Just ahead of World Book Day，the Chinese Academy of Press and Publication has issued its findings in a survey of Chinese reading habits．Chinese people read on average about eight books in the year 2015，a slight increase compared with that in the previous years．
