Tips for gaining confidence
We often think of confidence as a characteristic that is innate(天生的). People are either born with it or they don’t have it. 36 But this isn’t the case at all. There are a number of steps you can take to gain confidence.
1. Write down where you lack confidence
List the areas in which you are lacking confidence. Choose one area and spend some time thinking about it. If you can’t think of specific areas but suffer more from a general lack of confidence, consider focusing on something like public speaking. 37 Write about your specific concerns. You may find it useful to follow your fears to their most absurd end.
2. 38
Baby steps are the key here. If you want to build your confidence in public speaking, you don’t start by addressing an audience of thousands. A small, specific task to build your confidence in public speaking is important. As you complete your tasks, write them down in your journal . How did you feel? 39 How did things work out? Now, build on your small tasks.
3. Join a group
You may choose a group specific to the area in which you want to build your confidence. Toastmaster sinter national is a good general organization to build speaking and leadership skills, which will, in turn, develop your confidence as well. Through toastmasters, you will learn and develop at your own pace. 40 Write about your development , how you felt and areas where you have improved, as well as those that need more improvement.
A. Set yourself simple tasks and write down the results.
B. Those who don’t have it are just out of luck.
C. Try some of the techniques the journal recommends.
D. What were your worries and concerns?
E. How to be confident?
F. This is a common fear, but overcoming it is also a terrific way to build your confidence!
G. Whatever group you decide to join, remember your journal.

Dear editor,
With the development of modern technology, men and women, old and young, own smart phones, which brings them plenty of benefits and convenience .However, lots of people spend too much time and energy on social media, games, online shopping and so on. Wherever they go, they never stop phubbing.
As a result, being addicted to the virtual world makes them indifferent to people around. They can’t bear being separated from mobile phones even for a short while. What’s worse, they can’t communicate with others and deal with problems properly in the real world., which puts them into a chaotic state. If phones didn’t occupy their lives, everything would be totally different. Thus, I strongly advised we all get rid of the bad habit and care more about each other.
Your Sincerely

M:Oh, right. I do that for Fargo, too.
W:Yeah. That was what I was going to ask you about. Where do you buy your dog’s medicine? I asked my vet, and she told me the prices. I almost dropped dead right there!
M:Yeah. Unfortunately, most special pet stores sell them at fixed prices that are set by the companies that make them. You can usually find discounts of ten or fifteen percent for a lot of those stores, though.
W:Well, that’s not a huge help for something that’s two hundred dollars per year! Isn’t there any other way?
M:Well, you can order some medicines from websites that are based in other countries where the prices are lower.

This is the Lakewood Public Address System. This is not a test like the one we had last week. I repeat, this is not a test. The Western Hill Fire is spreading toward Lakewood much quicker than we had expected. Currently, we expect the fire to come within twenty miles of Lakewood by six o’clock this evening. We are therefore requiring all residents to leave this area immediately.
Springfield to the north, Point Cabina Station to the east, and Galveston to the south are all in the safe zone. It will take less than thirty minutes to drive to any of these towns. Take as many things as you can fit in your car, but do not delay. We have orders from the state police to make sure that the entire town of Lakewood is empty by five o’clock today. You have plenty of time to get all your family members, pets, and belongings together, so there is no need to panic.
Stay calm, but get started as soon as possible.
